Wall Coverings
01:58
|
|||
Wallpapered wall covering tracks made by animal skin
Scurrying, unseen decorators
Ornamental angles of sin, restrained instincts underpin
Patchwork quilt of the colourful people
And we all cave in as we’re quarrying here tonight
You see I misunderstand it was you that took my hand
And whispered the wish you said you wanted
But then you went away and left me here to stay
Alone in the world that we had created
And it all falls in as we’re quarrying here tonight

Little Fish Little Lamb
02:07
|
|||
Little fish and little lamb with hearts so sad that they will break
Down there at the lake
Mother mother get up please don't leave them with the evil one
She's crackers, she crackers!
Bob and walk around
Until the guests come down
And they will walk around
Waiting for the cook to start preparing for the cannibal
Stab the sisters heart
Little brother following, face inside the guttering
They're talking, they're talking!
Bob and walk around
Until the guests come down
And they will walk around
"Don't worry now, I won't kill you, I will cook another animal
We'll get you back to normal, and you will sing your witchcraft once again"
Eenie, meenie, let me live
And to you, my bird I will give
It will bring me straw
Straw, I will give to the cow
For which the cow will give me milk
And we will bake a cake
The cake I will give to the cat
Which will catch some mice for that
Hang them up in the smoke
After that I'll cut them up, yessir
I will cut them up

Kalli Anne
01:32
|
|||
Some think Summer's your mom, you have to have gum in your ice cream
You sing 'I Fed a Fish' but I wish that I could've fed pasta
Candy asks why don't you prefer her to healthy food
Dear Kalli, why aren't you at home, 'cause you're at school on the weekend
Shyness is grand, and I hope you understand that you're pretty and that your family is one I'd be happy to be in
Dear Kalli, this song is for you and I hope that you'll treasure it, too
Like we all do you

I Like You Too
02:02
|
|||
I want you to be around
Be around cause I like you
It doesn't happen much
We wouldn't have to touch
I just wanna sit beside you
I never wanna make you sad
Wanna try to make you happy
I never wanna hide
Why don't you come inside?
I just want you to be with me
I like it when you say my name
Can I hear it, let me stay again
I want you to be around
I don't like it when I miss you
You're the one I like the most
I want you to be close
I just want to be beside you
You know I need to hear your voice
You know I need to see you smiling
I look forward to the day
When you won't be away
Then you will see me smiling
I like it when you say my name
Can I hear it? let me stay again

Hobbled
02:08
|
|||
Take back my socks and feelings for an hour after noon
Slay orb spiders, still I'm hearing 'William, no not so soon'
I play with my anti-histamine as rash begins to flair
Later on I peek at falling tree from behind a floral chair
Un-tap my head, climb back to bed, unstitch my thread
The hour's up, I warm her toes as eyes begin their talks
Before losing their sight in upstate New York parking lots
She said:
'Go sing up to the stranger in grocery aisle 3, and practice such things daily in your nomadic trolley'
I've been analyzed and catalyzed as I barn danced alone,
But now no more of hog poo, or the acting as I'm prone
At lunch we melt my fear away in a salmon sandwich stream
At Stewart’s we begin again with birthday cake ice cream
Un-tap my head, climb back to bed, unstitch my thread
Eyes in the glass and snakes in the grass

You call me too late
02:21
|
|||
You always claimed you never wanted this
You moved away each time I tried to kiss you
But you need to know that I gotta go
You call me too late
I would proclaim my love a thousand times
You would complain you'd never see it in my eyes
But you won't believe that I've gotta leave
You call me too late
I have been lonesome and blue and I am happy now that you will be too
‘Cause I gotta go, you need to know
You call me too late
Now I am gone and we are far apart
I took back my love and left you with my empty heart
'Cause all of my words you never heard
You call me too late

Song for Addy
03:52
|
|||
Addy eats fruit, walks in no shoes
Reading Virginia Woolf, early morning
Dew will go between her toes as she reads aloud
Livi clumsily crawls and picks up a large messenger bag and TV tray before walking upright on the sidewalk hummng a tad
Livi’s ma with feathered cap, green make-upped neck and a velvet costume, pulls up next to her in a beater truck and yells from the window:
“Cut me up and look inside, leave me with nowhere to hide from you
Or your eyes inside my heart that shine so bright, and darken the shadows
So we can see our enemies and what needs mending”
Addy lies beneath the stars in her bedroom, wishing on the plastic ones, one by one
But Addy outside the stars are falling, getting close enough to be listening in
So leave the ones that seem so dull, left above your window
Climb out bed, fasten your coat, leave on the side a letter wrote
Head out the door into the night, an evening overflowed with light
Follow the path right to the gate, and when I awake I will say:
“Cut me up and look inside, leave me with nowhere to hide from you,
Or your eyes inside my heart that shine so bright, and darken the shadows,
So we can see our enemies and what needs mending”

Half Truths
02:06
|
|||
I recall there was a day when you were called my lover
We agreed that you would stay until you found another
Now the time has come and I sit here dressed in stone
And though there's walls around it this heart has no home again
I've seen the pictures you have shown to all your friends and the ones we know
A puzzle solved when pieces fit into all the faces long ago
'Cause you had never looked at me the way you looked at them
And this just goes to show me I guess we were just friends after all
With all the lines I walked along and all the paths I kept to
I realise now I was a fool 'cause this weren't how to get to you
All the lies I told myself and all the truths I spun
Tricked me into thinking that you were the one for me
So go on now and dont look back and I won't look back either
Your image burnt into my eyes will not make me a liar
I may sometimes hold up a piece of mirror to my face
To see if I can still see a figure move away

Under Torn Ends
02:36
|
|||
(right side)
I am not alive
I am flashes in your eyes
One more line written for your story
We can never die
Looking backwards at the time
Celluloid running as a memory
(left side)
Iron/flesh divide
In the fabric that He tied
Long for wine-ridden robe to store me
Weaken tethered lie
Tying us to severed line
Hardened hearts forming as an army
Shattered broken bones
Once belonging to the unknown
Finally got a name and buried
Sinking in the sea
Boat gets taken by enemies
I dive in, escaping to the bottom
I choke on words of rope weaving into your ears
Eyes looking out from under the torn ends

Rootleburys Serenade
02:25
|
|||
Summer sitting in the radio of our house, keep on listening to her voice for laughs
With Rootlebury, son of the cherry tree, and avocado’s grow from me
Cutting thistles, paint drying on your face, wherever you stand is a wonderful to be
So cycle safely in the clothes of yesterday and here by Rootle I will stay
Till after midnight when you come back through the door and eat your peanuts off the floor
Summer sitting in the big brown couch
